SPECIAL INVESTIGATION COMMITTEE TO HOLD PUBLIC HEARING
ON DEBT INVESTIGATION REPORT
Public can submit questions regarding the published report
(San Juan, PR – September 6, 2018) – The Special Investigation Committee of the Financial Oversight and Management Board for Puerto Rico (the “Oversight Board”) created by Congress under the bipartisan Puerto Rico Oversight, Management and Economic Stability Act (“PROMESA” or the “Act”), today announced that it will hold a public hearing to discuss the Final Investigative Report of the Independent Investigator, Kobre & Kim LLP, published on August 20, 2018.
On August 2, 2017, the Oversight Board announced its intention, pursuant to its authority under PROMESA to conduct an investigation to review the fiscal crisis and its contributing factors, and examine Puerto Rico’s debt and its issuance, including disclosure and selling practices. The Special Investigation Committee—composed of Oversight Board Members Ana Matosantos, David Skeel and Arthur González—engaged Kobre & Kim LLP as the Independent Investigator on September 1, 2017.
The public hearing will be held on September 18, 2018 at the Puerto Rico Convention Center, room 201, starting at 10:00 AM. Those interested in participating in this hearing should follow the pre-registration protocol available at the Oversight Board’s website www.juntasupervision.pr.gov. Also, the Special Investigation Committee will receive questions regarding the report via a website form also available at the Oversight Board’s website. Both, the pre-registration and the submission of questions, will close on September 14, 2018 at 5:00 PM.
The hearing will be livestreamed via the Oversight Board’s website and its audio will be available in both English and Spanish. The recorded meeting will be posted on the website as soon as possible after the meeting.
