Every day, thousands of students across Puerto Rico count on dedicated school cafeteria staff to provide healthy meals that help them learn and thrive. For more than 15 years, pay scales for these essential roles had remained unchanged, until a coordinated effort brought real solutions.

Through ongoing dialogue and collaboration between the Puerto Rico School Food Authority, the Financial Oversight and Management Board (FOMB), and other key stakeholders, a long-standing pay scale was finally updated. This milestone is the result of a clear process focused on facts, analysis, and consensus-building putting the needs of school staff and students first.
