Ethics Advisor Bio

Andrea Bonime-Blanc is the independent Ethics Advisor to the Financial Oversight and Management Board for Puerto Rico appointed by the Board under its Bylaws on March 13, 2017.

She is founder of GEC Risk Advisory, a strategic global governance, risk, ethics and cyber advisor. She previously held senior executive roles including as general counsel and chief ethics and compliance officer at several global companies. She currently serves as a board member to several think tanks and non-profits including NYU’s Ethical Systems, Epic Theater Ensemble in New York City, and Madrid-based Corporate Excellence: Centre for Reputation Leadership. She is start-up mentor at Plug & Play Tech Center, life member at the Council on Foreign Relations and governance, risk and ethics faculty at the NACD, NYU, IEB (Spain) and IAE (Argentina). She is author of many articles and several books including The Reputation Risk Handbook (2014) and Gloom to Boom: How Leaders Transform Risk into Resilience and Value  (forthcoming 2019). She received her PhD in Political Science and JD from Columbia University and was born and raised in Germany and Spain.
